Window Guards
All homeowners who are renting or plan to rent their units must notify their tenants in writing that window guards are available on written request. This issue should also be addressed in bold print in all lease agreements.
Window guards are needed if tenants have a child 10 years of age or younger, either living in the unit or who will be spending time in the residence. This rule applies to 2nd & 3rd floor windows and 1st floor windows that are more than 6 ft above grade from the bottom of the window sill.
The tenant's request to have window guards installed must be in writting
